Terms and Conditions
To begin working with us, please sign the agreement page we send with our Estimate for the project. If you would rather accept the Estimate by email, you can do so by emailing Carl.
Standard payment terms: 30 days. Other pre-agreed arrangements welcome.
If a deposit is required before commencing work, it will be listed on the Estimate.
Agreement between you and Cambridge TV Ltd
In signing the agreement page, or otherwise accepting the Estimate, you ("the Client") are entering into an agreement with Cambridge TV Ltd ("Cambridge TV") for us to produce your media product ("Project"), as described in the Estimate and, where there is one, our proposal (together, the "Brief").
Cambridge TV undertakes to produce the described Project in accordance with the Brief, to the best standard we can achieve within the time and budget available. We, and any contractors we might employ, will maintain confidentiality to whatever degree the Client directs.
Cambridge TV will not charge the Client for any expenses incurred without their approval, with the exception of travel outside Cambridge, for which standard HMRC mileage expenses may be charged.
The Client agrees that they are authorised to enter into this agreement on behalf of their organisation. The Client agrees to provide any assets and information required to complete the Project, to review Cambridge TV's work and to provide timely feedback.
Before commencing work, Cambridge TV will require a Brief, approved by the Client. If the job is simple, the Estimate is the Brief. If it is more complex, our proposal, once the Client has accepted it, is the Brief.
Deliverables and deadlines: at the Estimate stage it is sometimes too early to finalise these things. The agreement page records the agreed deliverables, timescales, shoot days, preproduction and post-production days and any travel outside Cambridge. If a detail is not yet known when the Client signs, we will confirm it in writing as soon as it is.
If things change
Both Cambridge TV and the Client will endeavour to accommodate the inevitable changes to the deliverables, timescales, shoot days, preproduction and post-production days and travel recorded on the agreement page, without changing the budget where possible.
If a change would cost more, Cambridge TV will tell the Client as early as it can, and will go ahead only once the Client has approved the extra cost.
How we price editing
CHANGES: estimates for editing include 2 rounds of UNLIMITED changes. Further editing is charged at £90 +VAT per hour.
STOCK MEDIA: if stock media is required, there may be additional cost.
ESTIMATED TIME RANGES: for some jobs we estimate a range, rather than a fixed number of edit days. This takes account of variables like weather, noisy environments, inexperienced contributors or other unpredictable conditions of the shoot that could lead to variations in the time to edit.
In these cases we will QUOTE for the maximum estimated duration of editing, but we will only ever INVOICE for the amount of time used, so this will normally be less than the estimate.
Copyright
The copyright in all intellectual property and branding remains with the Client. Copyright in any intellectual property captured in the film remains with the author. Ownership of the unedited footage remains with Cambridge TV, to be licensed exclusively to the Client for use in their finished Project. The finished Project means all final deliverables as full quality downloads. From delivery, the Client may use the finished files; copyright transfers on payment of the final invoice for the job.
Cambridge TV undertakes to store the unedited material and finished product for at least 6 months in case changes are required. Longer storage can be arranged without charge.
Cambridge TV undertakes not to release, resell or transfer the unedited footage without the express permission of the Client, but reserves the right to excerpt material from the Project for the purpose of marketing Cambridge TV's services or privately to show material to prospective clients. This will not be done if the Client requests the material remain confidential - please arrange at the beginning of the project.
