Cookies

27. This Website may place and access certain Cookies on your computer. Cambridge TV Ltd uses Cookies to improve your experience of using the Website and to improve our range of services. Cambridge TV Ltd has carefully chosen these Cookies and has taken steps to ensure that your privacy is protected and respected at all times.

28. All Cookies used by this Website are used in accordance with current UK and EU Cookie Law.

By giving your consent to the placing of Cookies, you are enabling Cambridge TV Ltd to provide a better experience and service to you. You may, if you wish, deny consent to the placing of Cookies; however certain features of the Website may not function fully or as intended.

30. This Website may place the following Cookies:

Type of Cookie: Analytical/performance cookies

Purpose: They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily. We use three tools for this. Google Analytics counts visits. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, as heatmaps and anonymised replays of scrolling and clicks, with anything typed into a form hidden. VidLead, our contact management system, runs a visitor tracker: if you are already one of our contacts, for example because you filled in a form on this site, it adds the pages you view to your contact record, so that we can see which of our pages interest the people we are in touch with. None of the three runs unless you choose "Allow".

Type of Cookie: Booking cookies

Purpose: Our booking calendar is provided for us by VidLead. These let it show you real availability and keep track of your booking while you are making it. The calendar stores an identifier on your device, so we do not load it at all until you ask us to. It also loads Meta's advertising library as part of how the booking software is built, though we have no advertising account connected to it, so nothing is reported to Meta and no Meta cookie is set.

Type of Cookie: Video cookies

Purpose: The films on this site are hosted by Vimeo. When you play one, Vimeo sets cookies that let the player run and remember your settings, such as volume and picture quality.

Type of Cookie: Marketing cookies

Purpose: If you ask us for one of our guides, these help us send it to you and remember that we have, so the same email does not arrive twice.

31. You can find a list of Cookies that we use in the Cookies Schedule.

32. You can choose to enable or disable Cookies in your internet browser. By default, most internet browsers accept Cookies but this can be changed. For further details, please consult the help menu in your internet browser.

33. You can choose to delete Cookies at any time; however you may lose any information that enables you to access the Website more quickly and efficiently including, but not limited to, personalisation settings.

34. It is recommended that you ensure that your internet browser is up-to-date and that you consult the help and guidance provided by the developer of your internet browser if you are unsure about adjusting your privacy settings.

35. For more information generally on cookies, including how to disable them, please refer to aboutcookies.org. You will also find details on how to delete cookies from your computer.

General

36. You may not transfer any of your rights under this privacy policy to any other person. We may transfer our rights under this privacy policy where we reasonably believe your rights will not be affected.

37. If any court or competent authority finds that any provision of this privacy policy (or part of any provision) is invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision or part-provision will, to the extent required, be deemed to be deleted, and the validity and enforceability of the other provisions of this privacy policy will not be affected.

38. Unless otherwise agreed, no delay, act or omission by a party in exercising any right or remedy will be deemed a waiver of that, or any other, right or remedy.

39. This Agreement will be governed by and interpreted according to the law of England and Wales. All disputes arising under the Agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.

Changes to this privacy policy

40. Cambridge TV Ltd reserves the right to change this privacy policy as we may deem necessary from time to time or as may be required by law. Any changes will be immediately posted on the Website and you are deemed to have accepted the terms of the privacy policy on your first use of the Website following the alterations.

Cookies schedule

Below is a list of the cookies that we use. We have tried to ensure this is complete and up to date, but if you think that we have missed a cookie or there is any discrepancy, please let us know.

Set by: Google Analytics

Purpose: Counts visits and shows us which pages people read, so we can make the useful ones easier to find. It tells us how many people came and which pages they opened, not who they are.

Set by: VidLead

Purpose: Runs the booking calendar on our contact page, and the emails that send you a guide when you ask for one. When you open the calendar it stores an identifier on your device, so that a booking you start can be matched to the one you finish.

Set by: VidLead (visitor tracker)

Purpose: Only if you choose "Allow". Stores an identifier on your device so that, if you are already one of our contacts, the pages you view can be added to your contact record. It is separate from the booking calendar above, and it is not loaded at all if you choose "No thanks".

Set by: Meta, the company behind Facebook

Purpose: The booking calendar loads Meta's advertising library as part of the software it is built on, rather than because we asked for it. We have no advertising account connected, so it reports nothing and sets no cookie. It is one of the reasons the calendar sits behind a button: nothing reaches Meta's servers at all unless you choose to open it.

Set by: Vimeo

Purpose: Plays the films embedded on this site, and remembers how you like the player set up.
