Podcasts

Long-form conversations, crafted with care.

Podcasts for researchers, innovators and mission-driven teams who want space for an idea to breathe.

We've always loved audio. One of our founders started out as a feature film sound mixer, and that care for tone, clarity and atmosphere still shapes everything we make.

When lockdown paused filming in 2020, podcasting took off. Cambridge's thinkers didn't stop sharing their ideas, and neither did we. From medicine to entrepreneurship, humanities to community projects, we helped universities and organisations keep those conversations going.

We get into the subject matter, help shape the format and tone, and can handle everything from presenter coaching to sound design.

01If the camera is the sticking point

The easiest way in.

Nobody sees you. There's no wardrobe decision, no lighting rig, no reason to think about where to put your hands. Most people forget the microphone is there after about ten minutes, and what's left is a conversation about something you know well.

It also suits ideas that need room. A film has to be disciplined about time; a series can follow a thread as far as it goes.

"We have all been really impressed by what you have done for us over the year, which has enriched CRASSH's offering mightily. We are moving, if not heaven and earth, then as many other geological formations as we can, to put us in a position to work with you again."

"I could be confident that they would understand what we were trying to do, and they would help us take us beyond where we can go ourselves, because we're not experts about that kind of communication."

03What it costs

£350 to £1,200 an episode.

From £350 an episode, recorded in blocks and turned into a lightly edited half hour-ish conversation, to around £1,200 an episode for a longer-form, prestige series with location recording and Radio 4 documentary style editing.

Video podcast episodes are at the £1,200 end of this price range, but if you shoot, say, four episodes on one day, the cost per episode is closer to £550.
